What is in this winter? Where do we get it?
The best part of the changing seasons in Melbourne is the massive changes we see in fashion... You can tell its Winter when everyone fishes out their scarves & jackets from the back of the wardrobe... Such an exciting time. Its almost like going shopping..the thrill of pulling out items of clothing that havn't seen the light of day for 6 months and getting to wear them again, it makes you feel like you did when you first bought them. Take your favourite classic pea coat, something that will never go through a winter without being worn.
Its super exciting being able to layer it with new finds or with old favourites, brighten it up with a statement scarf or mix it up however you want.
One of my personal favourite things about winter is that i get to get out all of my scarves, something that i think i may have a slight addiction to. At last count I had around 60, but no matter where I go, I always manage to find another one I just CANT walk out of the shop without buying. I currently have my eyes on a blue & white polka dot one & torture myself everyday by walking past the shop, just to look of course, and not wanting to go in because I know that the minute I walk in the credit card will come out.
Another addiction that I have is cardigans, buttoned up over the top of your corporate work wear or just casual on the weekend, they never fail to look great. There seems to be so many big chunky knit cardigans around this season, and my dreams of finding a 6 figure salary(or rich man) to be able to buy them all just cant come soon enough.
So with all this positive talk about winter, what are the downsides to it........
The one thing that stands out in my mind about winter is...BLACK! I totally understand how easy it is, and how much you DONT have to think about it, but come on people. Winter in Melbourne is dreary enough, lets liven it up a little and break the trend of wearing so much black during these cold months.
Spotlight: ETRO Mens Fall 2011/2012
Etro's zany styling aside, the fall collections features menswear classics in rich colors and bold, but traditional, prints. The majority of Etro's line would make great wardrobe staples, and look people....Colour!!
If your on the lookout for something you just know everyone will envy you for, Etro probably has it.
I love the way they blend bold prints with wardrobe staples and make it look so effortless.
I love the bohemian Chic look they have adopted for their Fall 2011/2012 campaign which was shot by Mario Testino.
Hope you guys like it as much as I do.
Till next time....
Dan
